SEOmoz blog covered Groowe toolbar

Monday, January 21st, 2008

SEOmoz, blog for search marketer professionals have covered Groowe in the post 14 Popular Browser Toolbars Reviewed - The Worthwhile and the Worthless.

From the article:

Features:

* Search multiple engines and vertical sources
* Get the Toolbar Functionality from Google, Yahoo!, Live, & Ask by rotating through
* Set preferences & add custom buttons & sources

Value to Ordinary Users: Medium to High

If you’re a power searcher or simply want to have multiple toolbars without the massive visual space consumption, Groowe is a solid choice. There’s a lot to like here, but you need to be someone who’ll actually use the features, which many ordinary users might not. Still, of the search-focused toolbars, Groowe is certainly a standout.

Value to Web Professionals: Low to High

Depending on what you’re doing as a marketer or developer, Groowe could be a boon or simply a replica of some features you’ve already got. The toolbar has a lot to offer, but again, it’s going to be personal choice & habits that make it valuable. My feeling is that marketers, particularly search marketers, will find more value than developers, who probably don’t need the extra search abilities on demand.

Bugs fixed

Monday, November 12th, 2007

I just realized that there was a bug in toolbar designer and that users where unable to change the toolbar’s logo. This bug is now fixed.

Also, you are now able to delete the buttons from the toolbar, which was also buggy.

My apologies for any inconvenience.

Please post any bug you find as a comment to this post.

In my first post, I have invited you to visit location www.groowe.com/toobars/. So what is it actually? Groowe.com/toolbars/ is the place where you can find all additional and updated toolbars for Groowe. Not only that you can easily install those toolbars, you can also preview each toolbar in your browser before you decide to install it into Groowe. Comments are available, so if you think that some toolbar might be improved by adding some buttons, or you are just delighted and you want to share that with the toolbar’s author, you can just leave your comment.

Other component of www.groowe.com/toobars/ is toolbar GUI designer. Basically, I have made it for myslef, to be able to easily create new toolbars. Earlier you would have to explore XML configuration files to make your own Groowe toolbar, now you don’t have to do that. By clicking and dragging buttons you will be able to create your own Groowe toolbar for some popular service on the net, or just some custom toolbar that suits your needs.
